KNUT's Club
  Thursday 8th December

What a night- to those who missed it - it's your own fault!

Nick Page

Nick Page

By the time Nick sat on the edge of a table on the stage the audience was ready for a change of style. Nick provided it. With his relaxed, but fast talking cynical observation and storytelling, he took us all to that place we love to be - a very earthy, magical comedy heaven.

And now we have another contender for the best comic we have ever seen at Knuts. See the list - and have your say.

"the funniest thing I've seen all year" Mitch Benn - and a lot of Knut's army agree.

Voice from America

Steve Young

big in America and big here -

Steve wanted to do two entirely different sets. We have seen how good he is - so we happily agreed - after warning him that this is difficult. At the end of the first half Steve did 15 minutes of "American News". He delivered an hours content in that fifteen minutes. It was exhausting - for the audience. After he said he might have done too much. Some of Knut's Army agreed, while others said it was the best act they've seen all year. How strange are comedy audiences.

In the second half he hit the stage running - his presence dominated the room - and his musical rendition of Jingle Bells - using the belly of his beautiful wife as his instrument of choice - had half the audience wetting itself and the other half slack jawed. He finished with a Christmas monologue that gave a fresh insight into dear old santa - and all connected with him.

Some of the Knut's army thought this was the funniest set they'd seen all year. They can't all be!! See the list.

Matt Tinker

It is always interesting to see a new act - and the best thing about Knut's army is they always give a fair hearing. With Matt Tinker it took about thirty seconds before he go the audience totally on his side. This man is good. He has developed some excellent material and delivered it with the cool assurance of an established comic. This is one to watch out for. We want him back.
