The Word Cup Warm Up

Cody Ro

Yes another new comic. And yes - we have had some dire ones. And yes - that is my fault. But this one was good.

However, Cody's came on strong and relaxed. He mixed sexist male pig jibes with self deprecating humour and easy charm.  An excellent set. Thanks Cody.

Sharon Court

Sahron was funny. She did a special set for World Cup opening night - and had avid football supporters and football despisers laughing. The crowd loved her. Some Knutters told me to make sure we get her back - she said she was willing - and she will be back in September with a different set.

Brilliant Sharon.

Steve Young

He arrived back from the USA the day before - and hit the audience with the force of a jumbo jet. He is always good - but this time he was even gooder.

We hope you keep on coming back to us Steve - and good luck with your summer in Edinburgh - the festival will be better for you being there.

Caimh McDonnell

Ciamh - pronounced Queeve - came on after three excellent acts - and demonstrated that he could match anyone with his wry stories and sharp wit. Our Knutters loved him.

His act put the final cream on top of a cake of an evening.

Joe did two accoustic sets and both were superb. This singer songwriter can play a mean guitar and his voice has sufficient range to carry his very evocative songs. The fact that his girlfriend was sitting on the front row was appreciated by the comics - she was a part of every set.
